The Need to Know before every Spell

With spell casting, sometimes with today’s day and age of social media, there’s a lack of information about what one should always do before casting. A lot of videos and TikTok’s only show the actual spell and not the before and after steps since it’s all about short length, digestible content.

But with spells, every witch must always have an alter to cast from (or a space that is dedicated to witchcraft) and cast protection before hand. Some also ‘Close the Circle’ and then ‘Open the Circle’ once the spell is finished, which also acts as a way to protect the energy so it doesn’t go wild, or in a direction you wouldn’t want it to go in.

So before casting any spell, one must cast protection or close the circle which is also as simple as asking the elements for help while pointing a wand or ritual dagger or even you hands to the forth corners, north, west, east and south or even wind, water, fire and earth. By pointing in each direction, you’re making a circle around yourself to be within its protective magic.
